FAQs

What does sliding-scale tickets mean?
Sliding-scale tickets means that you can select the amount you can afford to pay for the ticket. Our scale is between £0-£15. We don’t ask questions on why you’ve chosen the amount you pay, but trust that you select the amount you can afford.
How do I choose my ticket price?
We’ve used Glasgow Zine Library’s sliding-scale ticket model, which you can look through here if you’re unsure of how much to pay.
Can I pay more than £15 for a ticket?
Our ticket prices are set so that the workshops can be as affordable as possible, however if you’d like to donate please get in touch with us here.
Are artists paid fairly?
Yes - because the project is funded by Stoke-on-Trent BID and Arts Council England, this means we are able to pay artists and offer the workshops at sliding-scale; artists are paid regardless of ticket sales. Artist’s fees are in-line with Arts Council England and A-N guidance, and we cover material and travel costs too.
Please note that, as artists and practitioners ourselves, we recognise that high-quality workshops ran by creatives that are not funded, are not able to offer workshops at low/no-cost. Creative practitioners should be paid fairly, whether this be through ticket sales, funding or otherwise. Without funding, the workshops we offer would be between £30-£90 per ticket.
⁕ Seconds Store ⁕
What are seconds?
Artist’s seconds are trial, error and not-quite-right pieces, that are still entirely functional, but didn’t quite turn out the way the artist had hoped. These pieces often sit in dark studio corners, so we wanted to shed light on them. Because they have minor mistakes, we can offer them at significantly lower prices than they would normally cost.
Do you accept returns?
We do not accept returns on items purchased from Seconds Store. Sales are final, please read the descriptions carefully. If you prefer to see pieces in person, we have a regular stall at Piccadilly Artisan Market in Hanley, on the 4th Sunday of every month.
